Triangle Media Group (TMG) is all set to host the Biennial Global awards at the Cineworld Cinema Nottingham on February 7 (Sunday). TMG, which predominantly consists of Law, Media and Politics graduates, biennially celebrates, honours and recognizes South Asian achievements in the global media.
From India, actress Nandita Das will be awarded the David Flint Honorary Award for her film Firaaq. Indian film Director Onir will be present to receive an award for his forthcoming film I am based on the violations of human rights. There will also be a special screening of his critically-acclaimed film based on HIV & Aids: My Brother Nikhil.
In the Global Ambassadors' category, A.R. Rahman has been recognized for his work in Couples Retreat and Slumdog Millionaire. Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker has been recognized for religious peacemaking in his film Jodha Akbar. They will be awarded later this year in India.
Other winners include actress Lisa Ray, nuclear physicist Dr. Shan Nair, playwright Emteaz Hussain, Roma Patel and Dr. Rainder Dhudra.
